Hell Let Loose Vietnam Settings: Push to Talk, Keybinds & Sensitivity
Voice comms are the heart of Hell Let Loose, and Vietnam ships with voice chat open-mic by default — which is why “how to turn on push to talk” is one of the most searched settings questions of launch week. How to turn on push to talk
- Open Settings → Audio.
- Find the Voice Activation Mode option (listed under voice chat settings).
- Switch it from open mic to Push to Talk.
- Bind your PTT key under Settings → Keybinds — separate bindings exist for proximity voice, squad radio and (for officers) the command net.
If your change does not stick between sessions, you are hitting the launch-week settings persistence bug — see below.
How to turn off voice chat entirely
In the same audio menu, voice channels can be muted individually (proximity / squad / command) or globally. Muting proximity only is popular: you keep squad coordination but drop open-world noise.
Keybinds not saving — the launch bug
A confirmed launch issue: keybind and sensitivity changes fail to persist for part of the player base.
- Apply changes, then return to the main menu before quitting — settings written at the menu level survive more reliably than changes made mid-match.
- If Steam Cloud sync conflicts appear, prefer the local (newer) version.
- Expression Games has flagged settings persistence in its launch-week known issues; re-test after each hotfix. The updates page tracks patches.
Sensitivity and aiming
- Mouse sensitivity sliders live under Settings → Controls, with a separate ADS (aim-down-sights) multiplier.
- “Can’t change sensitivity” reports are the same persistence bug as keybinds — the slider works, the save fails. Use the main-menu workaround above.
