Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is a standalone 50v50 tactical FPS set in the Vietnam War (1965–1973), developed by Expression Games and published by Team17. Built in Unreal Engine 5, it launched on August 13, 2026 for PC (Steam), PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at $39.99. It is not a DLC for the original Hell Let Loose — it is a separate game.

A full standalone game. You do not need the original Hell Let Loose to play it, and progress is separate. The Vietnam-era setting brings helicopters, patrol boats, tunnel networks and asymmetric US vs NVA/VC factions.

Battles are 50v50 — up to 100 players per server, organised into infantry squads, armour crews, helicopter and boat crews plus a commander per side.

2026 Field Supplies is the paid cosmetic pass ($26.99) that delivers uniform and appearance drops across 2026. Smaller Field Supply packs (like the US Army and NVA Boat Crew uniforms, $2.49 each) are sold separately. They are cosmetic only — no gameplay advantage.

Launch-week Steam reviews sit at Mostly Negative (around 32% positive from the first ~330 reviews). The most common complaints are technical: GPU crash dumps, the missing game executable error, keybind changes not saving, and server browser issues — alongside balance complaints about helicopters. No. Hell Let Loose: Vietnam is not on Game Pass at launch and neither Team17 nor Microsoft has announced plans to add it. The original Hell Let Loose has appeared on Game Pass in the past, which causes the confusion.

A closed PC playtest ran in late May 2026 and an open beta (including PS5 and Xbox) ran in late July 2026. Both are now closed — the full game is out, so there is no free way to play beyond the launch version.
