Common leftover questions
- “How long is the playtest?” — both tests ran roughly four days each; they are over.
- “Beta sign up” — closed. There is no way to play free now; the open beta client no longer connects.
- “How to get the beta on PS5/Xbox” — the July open beta was the console window; it required no code, just a store download during those dates.
- “Does pre-purchasing let you play early?” — pre-orders did not include early access; everyone started August 13.
The “beta backlash” story
Searches for “beta backlash” refer to the July open beta reception: helicopter dominance, performance on minimum-spec PCs, and open-mic voice chaos drew criticism alongside praise for the setting. Several of those complaints carried into launch — which is part of why launch reviews opened Mostly Negative. The difference: launch is getting an active hotfix cadence, tracked on our updates page.
Did beta progress carry over?
No. Playtest and beta progression was wiped for launch — standard for the series.
